Viderity is seeking a Mid-Level Wireless Administrator responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all aspects of the company’s wireless local area network (WLAN), including access points, routers, antennas, and related hardware. This role ensures optimal connectivity and performance while adhering to security protocols. The Wireless Administrator will focus on managing the wireless network infrastructure, monitoring signal strength, and resolving connectivity issues to support organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and design wireless network architecture based on organizational needs, considering coverage, capacity, and security; install, configure, and deploy wireless access points, routers, and other network devices; conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement for wireless equipment.
Monitor wireless network performance metrics such as signal strength, throughput, and latency; identify and troubleshoot connectivity issues, including signal interference, roaming problems, and device compatibility; analyze network traffic patterns to identify potential bottlenecks.
Implement and enforce robust wireless security protocols such as WPA2/WPA3 encryption, RADIUS authentication, and access control lists; monitor for suspicious activity and potential security breaches on the wireless network.
Evaluate network capacity needs and plan for future upgrades or expansions; stay updated on new wireless technologies and hardware to recommend improvements.
User Support: Provide technical assistance to users experiencing wireless connectivity issues; train users on proper wireless network usage and security practices.
Candidates must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application.
Required Skills:
3-5 years of experience in wireless network administration or a related position
Strong understanding of wireless networking protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax)
Expertise in network management tools and troubleshooting techniques
Knowledge of network security best practices and encryption methods (e.g., WPA2/WPA3, RADIUS)
Experience with wireless network design and conducting site surveys
Familiarity with various wireless hardware vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve wireless network issues
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with IT teams
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in an onsite environment requiring security clearance
Relevant certifications such as Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Wireless
Hands-on experience with wireless network deployment and optimization
Knowledge of advanced wireless troubleshooting tools and techniques
Familiarity with capacity planning and recommending wireless network upgrades
Previous experience providing user support and training on wireless systems
Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000
