Viderity is seeking an Application Systems Analyst (Design and Development Specialist 3) to analyze, design, and implement software applications that meet dynamic organizational needs.

This is a 100% remote role for candidates based in the Washington D.C. Metro Area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia). Candidates can be located within a 2-hour commute from Alexandria, Virginia.

Viderity is seeking an Application Systems Analyst (Design and Development Specialist 3) to analyze, design, and implement software applications that meet dynamic organizational needs. The analyst will gather and assess business and technical requirements, evaluate existing systems, recommend improvements, and assist with troubleshooting and supporting application issues. This role is critical to ensuring the organization’s systems are optimized for efficiency, security, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business and system requirements to design, develop, and implement efficient software applications.

  • Assess existing applications and recommend enhancements or modernization initiatives.

  • Gather detailed functional and technical requirements from stakeholders across the organization.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for application-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to users.

  • Collaborate with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational goals.

  • Prepare system documentation, user manuals, and training materials as needed.

  • Ensure that all application systems meet performance, security, and compliance standards.

  • Conduct research on emerging application technologies and recommend integration opportunities.

  • Participate in application testing activities, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.

Job requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of experience in application analysis, development, or systems engineering.

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), system integration, and application design principles.

  • Proficiency with system analysis tools and methodologies.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes of system issues.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly document and explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with federal or large-scale enterprise IT environments.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) and web-based application architectures.

  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other iterative development methodologies.

  • Certifications such as Certified Systems Analyst Professional (CSAP) or equivalent are a plus.

  • Experience with application security and accessibility compliance (Section 508/WCAG).

Salary range:

$95,000 – $115,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
