Viderity is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to provide hardware and software support to end users, developers, and IT security personnel in a mission-critical environment.

This is a 100% remote role for candidates based in the Washington D.C. Metro Area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia). Candidates can be located within a 2-hour commute from Alexandria, Virginia.

Viderity is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to provide hardware and software support to end users, developers, and IT security personnel in a mission-critical environment. The Help Desk Specialist is responsible for a range of customer service, critical tasks, incident management, service request fulfillment, troubleshooting and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning sessions to define scope, objectives, and resource requirements.

  • Provides troubleshooting support to a user community employing computer systems and networks.

  • Diagnosis’s problems and provides applicable remedies. May serve as a team leader in operations.

  • Workstation and server configuration and deployment

  • Testing workstations and servers for compatibility and conflict issues

  • Support developers and analysts with custom software application development and usage

  • Keep updated workstation images for all individual workstations; keep separate image for each model

  • Operating Systems support and maintenance   

  • Installing and configuring applications and operating systems to organizational standards and baseline configurations

  • Keep all servers and workstations up to date with the latest patches and updates; maintain the BigFix management/deployment server and systems connecting to the server

  • Scan systems using vulnerability scanners to identify and remediate security flaws

  • Manage VMware environment including creating VMs, managing VMs, etc.

  • Install and test new configurations including new Operating Systems, hardware equipment, software, etc.

  • Assist developers with testing custom software on servers and workstations

Job requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.

  • Minimum two (2) years’ held desk experience.

  • Experienced in computer hardware and software systems. Understands how programs use computer hardware.

  • Experience with networking equipment and cabling

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot physical connectivity issues

Required Security Clearance:

o Access Level: IT-2

o Sensitivity Level: Secret/Non-critical Sensitive

o Type of Investigation: Current Tier 3 (T3) or National Agency Check with  

   Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal   

   submission.

 

DoD 8570.01-M Certification: N/A Exception: If the employee ever requires any Privileged system access, then DOD 8570.01-M, IA & CE certifications are required.

o IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level: IAT Level II

o IA Baseline Certification: Attachment_3_DOD 8570 Approved Baseline Certifications_Full_20210526

o CE/OS Certificate: Attachment_4_DLA Approved CS CE List_v28_20230221. Certification must be applicable to the Oracle based DAI Application Environment o Relevant certification from a nationally recognized tech

 

Salary range:

$53,865 - $72,818 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
