This is a 100% remote role for candidates based in the Washington D.C. Metro Area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia). Candidates can be located within a 2-hour commute from Alexandria, Virginia.

Viderity is seeking an Application Database Administrator to provide technical leadership support for the development, implementation, and maintenance of an internal database, data system architecture, and emerging database applications. technology. This individual demonstrates and provides expert-level guidance to assure the integration of database disciplines and best practices into the database reliability team. Further, this role is responsible for providing technical leadership of the database reliability team that is responsible for the installation, implementation, configuration, maintenance, security, integrity, and performance of critical Microsoft SQL Server systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides all activities related to the administration of database schemas and their objects.
Projects long-range requirements for database schema administration and design in conjunction with Infrastructure DBAs in the information systems function.
Maintains policies and procedures for ensuring database security and integrity. Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes. Resolves database performance, capacity, replication, and distribution issues.
Through research, they will identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our databases and their design.
Designs, creates, and maintains databases schemas in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of database schemas in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data and permissions. Advises users on access to various client/server databases.
Designs, implements, and maintains complex database schema objects with respect to user requirements, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).
Performs database programming and supports systems design.
Job requirements
Required Skills:
Five (5) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
At least three years’ hands-on experience and expertise in Database Schema management.
Experience also includes the ability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages.
Experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database.
Required Security Clearance:
o Access Level: IT-1 o Sensitivity Level: Critical Sensitive
o Type of Investigation: Tier 5 (T5) or Single Scope Background Investigation
(SSBI) at time of proposal submission.
DoD 8570.01-M Certification: DFARS 252.239-7001 Information Assurance Contractor Training and Certification is required for this position.
o IA Technical (IAT)/IA Management (IAM) Level: IAT Level II
o IA Baseline Certification: Attachment_3_DOD 8570 Approved Baseline Certifications_Full_20210526
o CE/OS Certificate: Attachment_4_DLA Approved CS CE List_v28_20230221. Certification must be applicable to the Oracle based DAI Application Environment o Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
Salary range:
$110,000 – $112,000 annually (depending on experience and qualifications)
